Didactic Program

Program Requirements

The B.S. in Nutritional Sciences Option I (Dietetics) is The University of Texas at Austin’s Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). Students who choose to complete this degree will receive a verification statement that qualifies them to apply for supervised practice programs. There is no formal application process. Students must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Students who already have a degree in another subject can earn a verification statement as a non-degree-seeking student by completing all required DPD courses, with at least four upper-division courses taken in residence at The University of Texas at Austin.

If you have questions or if you need additional information, please contact Diane Papillion, DPD Program Director. If you are interested in reviewing a statement of program outcomes, please contact the DPD Program Director. Statements of program outcomes are available upon request.

The Didactic Program in Dietetics is granted accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 120 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 2190, Chicago IL 60606, (312) 899-0040.
