The Department of Nutritional Sciences and its researchers work closely with members of the community, providing information and resources that helps lead to healthier lives.

EdEN Lab
EdEN (Education, Evaluation, Nutrition) helps teachers promote learning and healthier living through hands-on school garden experiences. The program empowers educators and connect students to nutrition through education in school gardens.

Cook ’em
Cook ’em is an online collection of student-produced videos designed to highlight food science and safety techniques. The series offers easy-to-follow guides and recipes. From hands-on kitchen chemistry to culinary research-based techniques, the series offers foolproof ways to learn to create delicious food while understanding the science behind it.

Trainings, Webinars & Events
Our faculty regularly work to bridge the gap between nutrition research and the everyday food choices everyone makes, providing a series of public engagement events. We aim to empower consumers, healthcare providers, entrepreneurs, communities and more with evidence-based nutrition guidance to help people lead a better. Find past videos of presentations we have given, including at the College of Natural Sciences-hosted Texas Science Festival.
