A Texas Science Festival presentation in 2023 featured a recipe for pecan butter and lightning talk from UT Nutritional Sciences faculty member Drew Hays.


Enjoy a Texas Independence Day look at the science behind some of your favorite uniquely Texan offerings—from bluebonnets, longhorns and life in the Hill Country to cooking with Texas ingredients. Each expert had eight minutes on the clock to break down what they know, with time for questions at the end. Drew Hays, faculty member in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, was among the presenters.
