Dr. Beth Widen Wins The Norman Kretchmer Memorial Award in Nutrition and Development

Elizabeth Widen, PhD, RD, University of Texas at Austin, received The Norman Kretchmer Memorial Award in Nutrition and Development at the 2025 American Society for Nutrition Conference. The award is aimed at investigators less than 10 years past their terminal degree. This prestigious award honors early-stage investigators with a substantial body of independent research in nutrition and development, with potential relevance to improving child health. Dr. Widen's research program focuses on behavioral interventions focused on infant feeding and parenting practices to optimize infant growth and health, and also on how prenatal nutrition and adiposity can impact maternal and child health. ASN’s flagship annual meeting, NUTRITION, took place in Orlando, Florida, May 31 – June 3, 2025.
